Cynarex (30 Tablets)

Cynarex is a natural herbal preparation manufactured from the extract of dried artichoke, which promotes the formation and flow of the bile and protects the parenchyma of the liver. It also has antiatherosclerotic effects lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the serum. It is recommended in patients with indigestion and decreased secretion of bile and, preventively, as a protecting agent, in persons at risk of exposure to carbon disulphide.

The preparation may also be used adjunctively in hypercholesterolaemia as an antiatherosclerotic agent and a drug lowering serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

EFFECTS
The active substance present in the extract of artichoke promotes the formation and flow of the bile. The polyphenol acids contained in the extract reduce the level of certain lipid fractions in the serum, mainly triglycerides. A decrease in the levels of certain free fatty acids, cholesterol and beta-lipoproteins have also been observed. The preparation also has protective effects on the parenchyma of the liver, e.g. in intoxications with carbon disulphide.

INTENDED USE
The drug is used in patients with indigestion and decreased secretion of bile and, preventively, as a protecting agent, for persons at risk of exposure to carbon disulphide. The preparation may also be used adjunctively in hypercholesterolaemia as an antiatherosclerotic agent and a drug lowering serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

DOSAGE
Adults and children over the age of 14 years: 1 tablet 3 times daily.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Allergy to artichokes, biliary tract obstruction. Do not use in children aged 14 years or younger.

ADVERSE EVENTS
No adverse events have been observed at recommended doses.

PRECAUTIONS
Patients with known cholelithiasis may use the preparation only after consulting their doctor.

USING THE DRUG DURING PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING
Using the drug is not recommended in pregnancy and breastfeeding. COMPOSITION Dry extract of the artichoke (Cynarae herba extractum siccum) - 250 mg Excipients: potato starch, glucose, lactose, sucrose, Arabic gum, talc, magnesium stearate - ad 550 mg
