What exactly is DHEA?

DHEA, produced by our adrenal glands, is the most common hormone in our bodies. It is present in larger amounts in healthy individuals. DHEA is a precursor for the manufacture of many other hormones in the body, such as estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, cortisone, and others. DHEA appears unique among hormones.
